Update 18th of September 2026

18-09-2026

Hey all!

I am writing today to recap a few things that have been happening the past few days.

I'll get the boring stuff out of the way first: I closed my private GoToSocial instance and moved my fediverse presence to blahaj.zone. The reason for that was that my little Raspberry PI and/or my network connection could not handle to fereate images over the few server it was already connected to, making the main site unreachable for minutes on end. Since this would not have gotten better over time, I took the decision to outsource my fedi account. Maybe I'll put it back up on a VPS in the future.

With this I also removed to timeline on the landing page for the website. I'll put IndieWeb stuff and other things instead in the near future.

Regarding projects: I have been working on a little game/prototype for a little 2d space shooter. I am writing it in pure js, not using any libraries, and everygraphic on screen is drawn according to so wireframe coordinates I am giving the object. With that it should not take up any space at all. It's just for me to get a bit of a handle on some basic things, before I want to move to a proper engine.

Great, that's the technical jibjab done.

Transition. Not going great. Not horrible either. I feel neglected by my doctor. It's clear that the way I am currently taking my hormones is not working out for me, and for some damn reason, I am gatekept from contacting her until my appointment in three months.

It sucks. I am barely functional right now. My dysphoria is creeping back in stronger every day again. How hard can it be to just listen to your patients, and believe them their distress and to find an individula solution for the issue instead of strictly applying some protocol, that does more harm than it helps.

I am in no general mood to do anything at this point, and I am strongly considering options where I am taking my OWN decisions about my body. I have tried to do it by the book and it seems like that is just the worse option in any case.

I'll be back these day with some more thoughts on random things. I wish could be in a better mood, but the waring to not trust the doctors, that I thought was hyperbole seems to have been confirmed for me.
